This artwork was created  in the days after the recent terror attack in Christchurch , New Zealand. I painted a meditation on human frailty, a large number of figures on canvas which I photographed. I then blended that with another photograph of a figurative construction I made from dry blades of grass, manipulating them together to create a more suitably graphic effect.

This work is a completely imaginary construction. The use of a fictive Panpsychic journal pays homage to the Albert Skira publication Minotaure of the 1930’s  while simultaneously providing a mechanism to reflect and navigate a profoundly significant cultural moment and how that impacts on our shared identity and our sense of humanity.
